If a company goes out of business, can the new employer verify you worked there?

Back in the day me and my nikkas used to make up companies and say they went out of business then give each other’s cell #’s for them to verify saying it was my former manager’s number. Always worked and got interviews. Its on you to nail the interview to get the job. Some of them called my boys to verify, some didnt. The ones that called just wanted to verify the dates worked so coordinate that with your boys. My boys dont answer blocked or sketchy numbers so they’d get a voicemail from the job, confirm with me then call them back.

Depends on how "major" the company was. Employee information has to be kept on the books somewhere for a certain period of time. I've worked for a company that did background checks for companies and we used 3rd party employee verification databases that companies uploaded their employee's information to.

To put your mind at ease, if you did put General Manager at Toys R Us from 1999 to 2003 and we weren't able to verify it because we couldn't make contact with someone or obtain the info, but we ran your name through the database and saw employment information from Captain D's from that same date range, we couldn't divulge that info to potential employers if you didn't list them.

nikka ain’t no employment database to run no names through. Companies not uploading employee info in no national database.

Man I be giving y’all nikkas the game and y’all always refuse to take the shyt.

1. Lie about shyt
2. When they can’t verify something they will ask you to provide proof
3. Pay for Adobe acrobat pro to just edit the document for proof. You need to pay for the pro version cause you can edit PDF files.

How many nikkas done sold dope they whole life, then sealed they record, then finessed they way into corporate with no work history? Me that’s who? Who moved to Atlanta and got a financial analyst job for a major bank with no prior corporate experience within 2 years? Me that’s who? Who been teaching y’all how to finesse y’all way into corporate jobs for years now? Me that’s who.

All y’all have to do is listen. This main issue is, y’all be too scary and timid to lie to these folks. Or only comfortable with a little small lie. If you trying to get paid in that corporate world, you better lie through your mothafukking teeth.

The Work Number® database offers credentialed verifiers with permissible purpose access to income and employment data for more than 136 million records.

I forgot about the work number. I stand corrected. But that’s for participating employers only. Every single employer not using that. And if a company trying to hire you, use them and it’s a discrepancy from what you told them, they likely gonna let you know and ask you to provide proof. That’s where Adobe acrobat pro come in. It always come back to lying and and faking the documents if you need to.

Let’s say you’re looking for a job, and you’re tweaking your resume. Could you put an impressive position at a major company that recently went out of business? How would they be able to verify if you actually worked there?
