And by regular I mean he's not a millionaire or billionaire. Has never worked in government, has never been in media. He's just a guy that has been paying attention to the news, reading books on his own, listening to podcasts and browsing social media.

He sets up everything he needs to get a campaign going, announces he's running on YouTube and it goes viral. Each week or few days he uploads a YouTube video and responds to viewer comments. He livestreams every few days to give people a direct window into the kinds of conversations he's having with his team and regular people.

He's media savvy, but not "from" the media. He knows how politicians answer questions and what techniques they use to sidestep them, but he's not from that world. He's just a smart guy who got tired of politicians not doing enough to improve the lives of regular people. When interviewed, his answers are all based off what people have said they want, and policies that have worked in the past. He's never been a manager of a company, and he runs his campaign team democratically. Decisions are made by concensus and the whole team stands behind the majority opinion amongst them and the communities they interact with. His campaign is fueled by donations from individuals. No pac money, no advertisers.

Not a celebrity, not a business owner, not military, and has never been elected to anything. He's just a guy who felt he needed to do something and was willing to roll the dice.

what's this regular guys views on how to deal with crime? :mjpls:

He'd have a plan based off:
1. Common complaints of police officers regarding workload and job stress.
2. What has worked in cities and states across the country.
3. What ex cons have said about what actually helped them stay out of prison.
4. What the communities want out of Police and crime.

Whole campaign would be driven by feedback from online communities, people in one on one conversations, and town hall style meetings. He'd probably offer federal funding for retraining officers, hiring special squads to respond to mental health crisis, etc. Every answer he gives would be based off the feedback he's heard, and policies that have worked and he'd always be ready with at least 3 examples of how an issue was solved or minimized.

ok so now you're describing someone that is basically Greta Thunberg. A political activist. these people cannot be president because they would not be aligned with a particular party.

they would have to run independently and thats basically a vote for one of the other two. unfortunately theres no way around the two party system that we have, not enough people are voting as it is.

Nope. Trump is a prime example of letting somebody with no experience in government, try to run a government.

@Scustin Bieburr All you've done is offer us a poor Trump.

The gold standard is an Obama or Clinton. A moderately wealthy , and intelligent person with extensive legal and govt experience. Extra points if they were a professor in law or a lecturer in a major branch of govt(econ, agriculture, health/med , etc).

Yea I would vote for him

However the shadow govt won’t allow it. They need to have you corrupted and dirt on you to do their bidding and they will stop at nothing to bring you down. They have to be able to control you, if they dont find dirt on you then they will target the people closest to you.

They will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo of keeping themselves in power and profiting.

Literally impossible :camby: there's no way to pay a whole team, travel, and conduct campaign events and streams on crowdfunding alone :jbhmm: either the candidate has hella bread on the low or is in the pocket of some richer interest :coffee:

this terminal quagmire isnt a matter of individual personality or experience ...

even in earnest, dramatic social change may not even be operationally possible through traditional so called "democratic" means... thats how unweildy and sclerotic this bureaucrat corporate union has become

Already shaky to begin with, your premise collapses right here. Leadership in a campaign isn't like governance. You need to be a lot more nimble.

Trump kinda shattered that let a person with no political experience win thing. I want my next president to be all about what’s going on in DC. Make politics boring again :wow: #MPBA

You need to at least raise a lot of money before you can announce you're running for President. Getting on the ballot of every state is expensive in itself. It's not possible.

Exactly, we need to go back to electing qualified individuals. This electing unqualified buffoons just because they’re outsiders isn’t the answer
