If a woman marries a man and takes his name, does that mean she has a fresh start?

All her legal documents have to be changed to her husband's family name.

There are people who will meet her and only know her by her married name and not maiden name, and if her appearance has changed(like with weight loss, gain, surgery etc.) Even old acquaintances might not know that they're speaking to someone who has already met them :lupe:

No.
In fact I respect women that take their husband's last name in marriage more than I do women who have to go for the hyphenate.
