Cats are nasty and be jumping up on countertops. :unimpressed:

Them good luck charms didn't prevent them Egyptians from taking dirt naps. :unimpressed:

I'd rather have bad luck and stay down with my #DogSet drehs than have good luck with a p*ssy-ass cat in my crib. :wow:

They venerated the cat for two reasons:

1) They hunted the mice which would've munched away at their grain stores.

2) They believed they could see into the next world.

First part is self explanatory to this day. So is the second but most don't realize it. What do you think cats are looking at when they suddenly look up and track an invisible point moving through your place and then get back to what they were doing. And thats before we get into their proclivity for subtle radiation.

Battle of Pelusium - Wikipedia
Polyaenus, "a retired Macedonian general more interested in novelty than historical accuracy",[4] claims that, according to legend, Cambyses captured Pelusium by using a clever strategy. The Egyptians regarded certain animals, especially cats, as being sacred (they had a cat goddess named Bastet), and would not injure them on any account. Polyaenus claims that Cambyses had his men carry the "sacred" animals in front of them to the attack. The Egyptians did not dare to shoot their arrows for fear of wounding the animals, and so Pelusium was stormed successfully. This would be an early form of psychological warfare.[5]
