If college was free, the U.S. would eventually be able to stop outsourcing skilled labor.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
We wouldn't have to outsource a lot of talent :mjpls:

People always complain about the U.S. not inventing shyt or making shyt. How tech companies are always outsourcing. How China steals intellectual property. Nah. Foreign students, come here to get educated, then take what they learn back, directly or indirectly.

If college was free, more people would go. The talent pool would be greater. Entrepreneurship would also increase. More importantly, More Americans will be educated. I don't see the downside of a more educated society, unless people want to purposefully keep people dumb.

the US outsources causes it's cheaper and no one cares that the Chinese or African kid dies trying gather up and put together minerals for iPhones

what would work better imo, along with free college and vocational/trade school is worker owned co-ops

"Power from within" is my philosophy

That's why Segregation is the only answer for the salvation of Black people

And Nationalism is the only way to save America

That's not how that works Playboy.

Corporations didn't outsource because Americans didn't have the skills or education to mold cheap plastics or build a hammer. They outsourced because Americans wanted a liveable wage and benefits. Why pay an American $15 dollars an hour when you can pay a Chinese person $10 dollars a day a give them a performance bonus of a dollar if they hit above average numbers.

I’d be in favor of free community college with the condition you live and work full time in that state for three years after graduation.

Then at least you are contributing in the form of income tax and living expenses.

There are no smart people, most "smart" people in the last few hundred years were just rich cacs who could afford school. With more people getting the highest education they want so many things will be invented and not in just in STEM which there is some thing where people do not think art degrees are worthwhile. So much knowledge would be created and discovered but instead we use education as another divider

The Truth
Like I said above

We didn’t outsource because of lack of skill, we outsourced because its cheaper.

Even in IT they try to outsource not because people aren’t capable, it’s mainly because they’re trying to be cheap and cut corners instead of paying for quality service.

Its a reason why you see/hear all these indians doing shyt whenever you call a helpdesk or something.

Even with my school, its nothing but indian dudes proctoring my exams or something. Never an American in the states...

And then they try to cut corners by paying but having the bare minimum staff to do the job, making stressful, bad quality of life, high turnover for. Actual “skilled” American workers.

Above the fray.

Several states currently have free community colleges programs. I think the program in NY (for the state 4 year colleges) does have rues about staying in state after completion of degree.

Kids in those states who value education and want to earn degrees are taking advantage.
