If Eminem would’ve stopped releasing albums after The Eminem Show, how different would his legacy be?

His legacy would be a lot stronger, there's no doubt about it. Not even a debate. To what extent? I think it's hard to say IMO. But there's no doubt that (more or less) every one of his albums is worse than the previous one after TES in 2002. There are a couple of exceptions to that rule, but it's mostly a downward trajectory.

After TES he was arguably at his cultural peak, and that was arguably his best album.

Culturally he's still.stealing, hes not top 5 on a cultural level regardless

isnt someone like post malone 1000x worse? im no fan of marshall but at least hes not putting out country songs. he also grew up poor and his friends (and enemies) were black. he seems to love/respect hiphop as an actual art form. hes a clown but hes at least a serious rapper. post malone seems like ronald macdonald in comparison.

:yeshrug:

if it were 1997 i could see what you are saying... but it feels like society has progressed closer to the end of hiphop. the real shyt will always be there of course but im talking mainstream music... in a world of post malones, jack harlows, and jelly rolls, it seems weird to have so much venom for marshall in particular

of course its easier than ever to ignore him these days. when he came out and was on mtv everywhere i hated his ass. now i rarely hear about him, unless im on here and yall are clowning on him
