I think that in general we tend to laugh at issues instead of seeking REAL solutions. Its easier to make fun of people or make jokes out of unfortunate situations instead of taking it seriously. As a community we do this about ALL of the ills that plague us (sexual promiscuity, crime, misogyny, unemployment, poor health, poverty, etc.) with the exception of white racism. No one laughs about racism...the rest is all fair games for jokes which is sad.
