WOW I've heard it all now. I kinda get what you saying, but how the fukk you gonna rate a nikkas soul?

I never said we were rating their souls. I am talking about hearing the soul through the music. The forgotten and overlooked skill that is even more powerful than lyricism, which is being able to bear the soul on wax and transferring it to the listener. only a handful can really do that and you have to be really listening to even hear it.

KRS embodies the spirit.....every line you can just hear the essence. I was going to put him in the original post but I was pushing the thread in the direction of the common GOAT contenders.



It is subjective, but at least the criteria could be examined on a deeper level. Like I said Hov' is my flagship, allaround GOAT, but in the context of this argument/debate he loses....he's not even close. If most people really valued soul I'm sure their GOATS wouldn't rank as high either.

I mean I get what youre saying but its pretty much black and white. Either you express yourself through music, or you just use it as a tool to make money.

Part of what youre talking about has to do with whos selling out.... other then that its purely subjective.

To me, Ghostface has the most soul in his music... I can appreciate the way he thinks about the world, and hes one of the most passionate storytellers in the game
