LeBron is the best player I've ever seen play. But even I am ok with the fact that in 2060 there may be a player even better than Lebron.

But did he leave? Go away fakkit If Carmelo could force a trade away from Denver, Kobe could have forced a trade too if he really wanted it. Kobe didn't want to leave. He just needed help. LeBron actually did abandon his teams.......TWICE.

Even though I agree with the help aspect, the one thing people overlook that choose to compare the situations (which are incomparable IMO, two different caliber of organizations) the Cavs and basically most small market teams don't have the acumen nor the leverage to consistently get the level of help required for superstars of Lebron, Kobe's level etc. The Cavs already showed their inability to get a LEGIT all-star/star to compliment Lebron for a variety of reasons, so he left in free agency. If you were being overworked and ridden at work due to a inept company, you would leave to a better opportunity once you had the chance.

Here is why I believe LeBron is better than Kobe.

When you think of all the championship teams in NBA history. Like 93% of them had all-star caliber big men (either centers or power forwards).

The Trailblazers with Bill Walton in 77
70's Lakers with Wilt Chamberlain
Bucks with Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabbar for those who don't know)

2008 Celtics
....And, as much as Kobe fans don't want to admit it, he needed Pau Gasol to win in 09 & 2010. Ask any Laker fan in 2008 after they lost to the Celtics, (or anyone who can watch with unbiased eyes) Pau Gasol was soft and was the primary reason they lost. His total +/- for that 2008 Boston series was a -23. But in that 2009 Orlando series he was a +61 during those 5 games. And in 2010 NBA finals vs Boston he averaged 18, 11, 3 assists, and 2 blocks per game (and had 19, 18 and 2 blocks in game 7) with an overall +/- of +10. When he was poor in the finals in '08, the Lakers struggled. When he was dominant in '09, the Lakers cruised. When he was just above average '10, the Lakers eked out a win. Let's not forget, as clutch as Kobe is for his career, he struggled in that game 7 vs Boston. Pau Gasol carried that team that day.

So what does that have to do with Lebron. Lebron won last year without dominant play at the Center or Power forward positions. Kevin Love, as great a talent as he is, was neutralized by the warriors style of play. He averaged 8.5 points and 6.8 rebounds in the finals. He was a poor man's Herb Williams in the finals last year. Kobe vs. LeBron was an argument before LeBron won the 'chip last year because LeBron needed an all-star C/PF to win rings in Miami (Bosh). But not last year. AND let's not forget the team he played against...most win in the regular season!!! Kobe has yet to win a chip without a at least all-star level play from a C/PF in the finals. That lumps him in with 90% of the other superstars in NBA history. Lebron's win last year pushed him into the Elite of the elite. Bottom line: He's better than Kobe.

Judging players strictly on championships is a bit stupid.Kobe was traded to a ready made 55+ win Laker team,and played with the most dominate player in the league for the first 8 years of his career.While Lebron had to single handedly carry a franchise on his back for the first 7 years of his career.Had the situation was reversed,Lebron would have won 4 titles with shaq,then 3 more with Gasol/Bynum.We also need to factor in the quality of the finals opponents.Leron has faced some of the greatest teams of all-time in the finals:

Barkley clearly believes Lebron is better than Kobe.He only gives kobe the edge because he has more titles.
