If mind uploading became a thing would you send yourself to the digital cloud?

Mind uploading, also known as whole brain emulation, is the theoretical futuristic process of scanning a physical structure of the brain accurately enough to create an emulation of the mental state and transferring or copying it to a computer in a digital form.

If it became possible to either clone your mind and send it to a digital world or you yourself could go to the digital world, would you?

You basically wouldn't be human anymore but simply a conscious being existing in a Infinite boundless world.

Pros - You'd extend your life, get to explore whatever you want, learn, and potentially create.

Cons - corrupted malware or virus could potentially send your digital mind into an endless spiral of confusion and/or pain. Having to rely on the physical world to maintain your digital one. Your consciousness isn't the same in a digital space and you basically become inanimate data.

First season is pretty good
Andy Allo :noah:

I wouldn't do it....need that physical.

I ain't trying to live in a replica of the physical world though :scust:

I need space, the ocean, ancient civilizations or futuristic Scifi joints. I imagine if you can't enjoy anything physical like eating or touching you'd need visual stimulation in the form of exploration.

Nah, personally don't see the benefit in doing it. I still can't shake the idea that my brain is the body. I'd feel as tho I'm just copying myself and making a clone, instead of living forever. I still get to die in an upload scenario.

Most of your brain neurons remain with you for life, so I'm on the camp that says that the mess of neurons, axons, and dendrites sitting on your neck is the real you.

It's kinda like an old1960s Chevy that has had all it's engine, upholstery, chassis, and parts replaced but still uses the same serial number. It's not really the same car. It's basically a replica.

So I'm personally a propnenent of seeking immortality through fixing the underlying hardware instead of just copying it. see what I mean? :hubie:

.

Also as a side note, any scenerio where you get to keep your body but control a digital character, isnt really uploading. It's just playing a VR videogame. It's not really ground breaking stuff, you could even do it at GameStop later today if your really felt like it.

This concept was in black mirror but for old folks who were in retirement homes and hospices… Minds got uploaded to the cloud and they were in any era they chose to be in.. 70’s, 80’s 90s etc

Always seemed like some White people shyt to me, so they can keep ideals and values that oppress others in the world. I’m sure Trump would love to do this so he can ā€œsaveā€ the country from becoming too woke.

Original people have always understood the passage of time and life, this is why ancestor worship is ubiquitous throughout the continent

Cacs think they're gonna wake up in a robot body uploading their consciousness. Nah you're gonna be dead. Without your organic brain, you're finished

Actually I don't because I never heard of the neck thing :jbhmm: I'll have to look into it to see more of what you mean.

Lol, breh. I meant it as a figure of speech. I'm referring to the brain sitting on the neck, not the neck itself. I fixed the earlier post for clarity :pachaha:
