Do you think he would have as many defenders? :patrice:

Depends on the race of the boy...

White boys...some Black people may defend him...

Black boys...Nope...he'll be called to be carried out and burned alive...

It's funny how anti-LGBT sentiments and gender interacts amongst Black folks...

A Black boy is being made a man if he's having sex with a grown ass woman...but he's a victim if he does it with a man...

No Black person can seriously imagine a young Black boy...wanting to have sex with an older male...nobody is going to try to make that argument...

That's an automatic...no no no...

But Black men and women...can imagine a young Black girl...seducing a grown ass Black man...

It's the idea of the Black woman or any woman having this hyper sexual agency that can overcome the rationality of a man...is a common trope amongst men...and men and women play into it...

A young girl seducing a grown man might as well be the male version of the ravish fantasy that women report to have...

Rape fantasy - Wikipedia

The biggest taboo a heterosexual man can do is have sex with an underage girl...and in this fantasy a man is not presented to having agency...the young girl has all the agency...

It's been talked about in the book Lolita...

So when men and women defend a piece of shyt like R. Kelly...they are defending a sexual fantasy...they aren't standing against White Supremacy or Black male image...they are defending a sexual taboo...

Even Ice Cube got a song about sexing an underage girl...and then blaming the girl and the father...saying that she can't say it's rape because he got it on tape...it's a thing...

It's been reported that Black boys and girls have sex at a younger age than any other demographic...so Black children who encounter sexual attention from their peers and adults...just imagine their view on sex...it's not gonna be the overall middle class White American standard...

Wow I never thought

Wow, I never thought of it like that.

Has anyone ever held Ice Cube accountable for his song about gang-raping and taping a minor (a song where he clearly says that he knows she's illegal)?

Gotta stop you here:

In this hypothetical situation, the race wouldn't matter at all.

Matter of fact - I would venture to say the outcome might even be the same as it is now,
except nobody woulda doubled back to "care" now.

He caught quite a bit of flack for it back in the day by music journalist and some womens groups. Ice Cube had to address the idea that he was anti woman on a few occasions. Like the song where he contemplated kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach.

It doesn't even have to be little boys R.Kelly wouldn't have as many supporters if he was accused of touching grown men.

NO
Oh please, hip hop legend Afrika BamBaataa is accused of molesting boys and was dragged thoroughly because of these credible allegations. His legacy has been forever tarnished because of his rep in NY being a child molester of boys. But he's still walking the streets and not "burned alive" like you said R Kelly would. Granted he is not as popular as R Kelly but he still would have garnered as much support as he is now. Hell the greatest American singer/artist of all time, Michael Jackson was accused of molesting boys and his popularity NEVER took a hit as he is still beloved around the world and in the black community. He admitted to having young boys sleeping in his bed and people were defending him to death. So yes, if R Kelly's alleged victims were boys, than it would cause a stigma, but people would still be playing "Step in the Name of Love" at the cookout.

Remember when Frank Ocean came out and a lot of black dudes here immediately stopped listening to his music? Same would happen, because few things unite black (and white) men more than going to extremes to prove their heterosexuality by denouncing gay shyt to laughable levels.
