If music is so popular why is there no TRL? :dahell:

The music networks realize there isn't money in music video shows anymore. Reality TV is where its at. They save the videos for their secondary channels.

youtube killed that shyt breh

if i wanna see a video right fukking now, fukk i look like sitting through commercials and waiting for a countdown to see if my favorite video is doing well :noah:

this 2013 breh catch up, with all that said tho if youtube had a sponsored program where they could link up all the new hip hop videos (not that audio shyt) so that you could see all the new videos on the sidebar as you're watching one, that would be dope

all in all, we're almost there. a lot of the sidebar videos are either audio or people desperate for hits on their upload

If music is so popular why doesn't MTV show music?

It's not convenient for people to wait for videos they might or might not like for 1-2 hours of the day when they can just go on www.youtube.com and search for any video they want, any artist they want, related artists, top artists etc and see videos in 1080p whenever and wherever they want.

It's technology..

Same reason Netflix and Hulu are worth billions of dollars.

It's also about the demographics of new music listeners often kids, young grownups etc who adapt to all types of trends very fast.

Cause music videos are on its last legs, in general. What use to attract people to videos in the first place, video hoes (and rarely) creativity, is no gone. You can see porno hoes with a few click on the mouse these days and creativity is dead in videos. That is why Rap City, TRL, and such no longer exists.

you just made up all this breh.

Music videos on it's "last legs"? nah, we still watch videos...and we probably watch even more of them than at any point in time. Video sharing sites got us watching music videos at work/school.

Worldstar pulls in millions every year just off music videos, fights and bytches shaking ass.

the reason that music videos aren't on MTV,Vh1 and BET like they used to be, is because Viacom figured out they could draw more people in with shyt like Jersey Shore, Teen Mom and all the other lowbrow reality shows.

from a business standpoint... why not fill up a 2 hour block of airtime with shyt that'll draw ratings....instead of videos?

just like the History Channel.... that shyt is nothing more than shows about people buying/selling old shyt now.

it's about money, and has always been about money.

That is true, too. Videos ain't getting as much as before since so many rappers drop so many of them in a short ass time. Without anticipation, shyt is just taking up time. Now you got mixtape rappers dropping 10 videos in a span of 2 weeks. Worldstar is known for fights and booty hoes, not music videos.

it's the society we live in now breh... everything is instant.

we don't have to rely on the TV to feed us videos anymore, everything is one click away.

we complain about having to watch a 20 second ad on youtube these days...

waiting for some shyt for weeks/months is just not something that's happening anymore....especially if you're not an established artist.

Worldstar makes the majority of it's money off rappers.... not fights or girls shaking their asses.

Breh, real Hip Hop singles like you hear on Hip Hop and R & B stations don't usually get spins on pop radio :comeon:

A lot of Drake & Wanye's singles don't get spins on pop stations. Headlines, 6 foot 7 foot, never got played on pop stations but "How to love" did but was a singing record. Same goes for Drake which was that Duet with Rihanna.

Pitbull, Flo Rida & Nikki Minaj are the only rappers where most of the singles get spins on pop stations. Even with Nikki songs like "Moment for life" didn't get played on pop stations.

Nelly & Ja Rule in their prime was getting spins on pop stations when all the music videos shows was popping :ld:
