Unless they had a weapon or tried to attack her when the door was open she wouldn’t have cause for using deadly force. The story is that the ppl trying to get in thought the room was empty and were just trying to squat in the spot.

Opening the door would have caused them to just run/walk away. Putting a bullet in em would be a good way to get 15-20 years.
