Of course you can't replace his presence even as it is...but he's had a lot of time to put out so so material...him going to prison right then would have been Slick Rick (who still gets high marks in proportion to his output, at least with cats over 30) x 50.

He might not have died, but his career would have pretty much been summed up with one of the most dynamic and debuts in Hip Hop history at a time where sales inflation was really becoming evident.

Of course... because as was said in a previous thread Doggfather had nothing to do with Dre anyways... so what would have ended up happening is Doggystyle would have much more talk as a top 10 hip-hop album which personally I believe it is anyway. Dre would have went on to have the career he had which would have made Snoop a mythical GOAT contender because of the masterpiece that is Doggystyle.

At the same time truthfully, if Snoop only released Doggystyle and Murder Was The Case, I wouldn't be mad at anyone who said he was their favorite, or was a GOAT contender if (a) and (b) didn't happen to him. Snoop is ill as fukk. His flow those times was only rivalled by few.

So would that put him higher than Biggie?

His legendary status would've been bigger cause we always do static forecasts of people who stop rapping for whatever reason.

Chronic and Doggystyle, in 18 months or something, one would expect him to maintain that level for the foreseeable future.

Damn, so everything snoop put out afterwards is a disappointment then??

If that was the case, i don't think we get chronic 2001 as we know it for today... the butterfly effect y'all, Dre would have been seen as someone who lost it and probably would have gone downhill afterwards... :ohhh:

OR NOT! :russ:
