In America? No. NPD confirmed that Xbox 360 is the highest selling console of last gen in America.

Do you know how many hoops Sony had to jump through just to make the PS3 an affordable thing to produce? They had to axe out the main selling point of their processing engine (Emotion Engine chip) and Blu Ray production costs didn't reduce until like early '10. PS3 came out in '06. That's roughly FOUR YEARS of high production costs for Sony, AND development costs for pubs/devs (unless you were second/first party, you weren't developing shyt for Sony unless you wanna take those prices.). Sony did so badly that Kutaragi left.

Let's not even discuss how poorly the PSP did in America.

The only reason Sony managed 2nd place is because Japan hates american gaming products. Always has. But they damn sure had to work for it.

To this day PS3 has yet to catch up to the Wii's worldwide sales in America.

We all know why it costs so much and what had to be done to get the price down. The bottom line is that despite this it still came in 2nd despite the Wii onslaught and 360 year head start. And it wasn't just Japan that saved the PS3 sales, Playstation is signficantly stronger in Europe as well.

Wii was an exception/aberration and the Wii U is proving this
Xbox still is not a worldwide brand and will never be.

Sony grouped up PS2 and PS3 sales into the PS3 total. You take out PS2's sold, Xbox is up by over 10million consoles. That is the exact reason why sony decided to hide the real numbers, and yet now they are more than willing to release so called real numbers

PSvita was outselling DS and would have 100's of games after a year
If you can find a PS3 on shelves, they'll pay you $1200 for them

They will not remove otherOS
They removed the emotion engine chip to bring down cost
PSN and your info is protected (sued worldwide)
