If Takeover sounds better, and more factual than Ether, why do you all pick it as a better song?

Ether hit Jay harder imo, Takeover had its fair amount but Ether was just like:ohhh: when I first heard it

I bang with Takeover more now because I overplayed Ether, that's rare for me too 'cause I bang like fukk to Nas and Jay ain't for me so much

Ether bangs

Someone post the link of Nas in Central Park from 2004

Ether bangs, and the facts that are touched on still hold true to this very day

Dame diddy
Jay basically being a chamillion and trendy
The biggie biting
The Jaz O relationship and future schism
The Beans reference
The whole crew getting destroyed after

Even the Joe Camal jokes have transcended time and are still relevant today and can be traced back to Nas.

For all the flack the record gets for being rooted in jokes/insults the facts and prophetic claims still hold true to this present day.

Nas stood up to an empire by himself

Between Ether, Dame promoting Cam to VP behind his back, and the unexpected bullish rise of 50 cent (in 2002)

Jigga sent himself into a fauxed early retirement to regroup and rebrand

Ether is pound for pound the better diss given its overall impact

You've also had former members from the Roc come out and praise Nas for the diss and ultimately winning the battle

Freeway
Dame
Beans
Bleek

The lil homie put in work with that record. Between that beef and Stillmatic Nas' career got that second wind.

Takeover having more facts than Ether is one of the biggest myths of all time. :pachaha:

So Jay didn't keep Nas' name in his music? :comeon:
Does he not love Nas' style? :ahh:
Was it not prophetic how Jay popped shyt on Super Ugly afterwards and his mom made him apologize, nikka just ask Kiss? :pachaha:
Jay Z? I wonder if Jaz knows where that name came from? :ohhh:
How much of Biggie's rhymes came out Hov's fat lips? :mjpls:

I could keep going on...

Jay really tried to capitalize off two lackluster Nas albums (quality of I'am & Nastradomus < illmatic & It Was Written) and an average compilation (Qb finest).

The best bars directed at Nas were actually false but in that moment Jay played on the fans short term memories and the quality Nas' last two albums.

"Had a spark when you started
But now you're just garbage"

"Your body guards Ochi Wally verse better than yours"

"1 was nahhhhhhhh.. The other was illmatic, that's one hot album every 10 year average"

Jay had no idea what was getting ready to come his (and the ROCs way)
