I've always thought that the age of consent shouldn't be low in places where young parents are not accepted socially. How confusing is it for adult men and women to be socially conditioned to be okay with being attracted to a teenager, but not only would it not be acceptable for that teen to start a family, but how is that adult supposed to accept their own physical aging when all their sexual attention is focused on young people.
