Small black city is "taken over" as soon as they get a large lucrative corporate investment..
Because I was thinking to myself,
Me: Gosh, it's stories like these that make me wish they had more traction but that's reality for ya. No one cares.
Also me: Wait, but the coli is clearly talking about it and notes how important it is by even giving it a sticky
In a sense we are reporting on it to give it more awareness thus making us a legitimate form of media (I mean, duh, it was already like this but I'm exaggerating and insinuating people could potentially get their news from here with more journalism)
But this website's community is so small that the only impact it has is barely keeping this website afloat and donating to one person every blue moon (like the homeless brother @Booksnrain sponsored).
If we allowed more people to join, and yes, I'm on the "new negros" campaign, it would expand the website even more.
I'm not saying we need to be like reddit or that we need to destroy your "safe space". Obviously when there are so many users joining a handful will share your views, so you'll still be able to circle jerk.
All that to say, and this is my TL;DR. if we want certain stories about our struggles to truly go viral in order to make a difference, we should think about what it takes to make that difference.
