If the NBA Finals was a one game winner takes all, is it as big as the Superbowl?

If the NBA finals came down to just one game and that one game decided the champion the same way the Superbowl does, do you think the ratings would be as good or close to the Superbowl ratings?

doesnt come close to the sb ratings

sb this year averaged 111 million viewers and topped out at 172 million

game 7 averaged 30.8 million and topped out at 44.5 million
You say that shyt like a lot of people don't watch for commercials and the half time show.

Even a lot of causal people who don't watch football as much watch the SB cause it's an event.

At least NBA players get to profit more money from their sport. NFL players getting their brains mushed in just to get robbed by rich white men.

No, it wouldn't even be close. It MAY draw at most 1/3 of the viewership that the Super Bowl would draw.

I think a game seven such as last year with all of the build-up throughout an entire series would draw more people then just a single elimination game for the NBA. Then just a single elimination game for the NBA

Really no sense for the NBA to even contemplate this. I think it would actually hurt the league quite a bit because you would have a situation in where you question the final result of the champion in many cases. Ratings would boost for sure, but it will inevitably be viewed as a negative IMO.

In Basketball the risk for injury is much less of a factor than in Hand Egg. So many teams would be unfairly crowned. 1991 Lakers, 1998 Jazz, 2001 Sixers, 2011 Heat, 2012 Thunder for example.

2016 Warriors as well

No.

But you can't compare game 7 of the finals to the super bowl. The super bowl is a single date marketed for over a year in advance. The existence of a game 7 isn't known for a few days prior, and the location of that game isn't locked in until at most a week before the series begins.
