If the NBA finals came down to just one game and that one game decided the champion the same way the Superbowl does, do you think the ratings would be as good or close to the Superbowl ratings?

Not initially but it could become that nba would never take that risk though lol. If I was running the league and thinking long term though I would do like a week long event all Star weekend and the end of the week one finals game.

But you can't compare game 7 of the finals to the super bowl. The super bowl is a single date marketed for over a year in advance. The existence of a game 7 isn't known for a few days prior, and the location of that game isn't locked in until at most a week before the series begins.

People fail to realize that the majority of folks feel like you can get the whole point of an nba game in the last 5 mins of the 4th quarter

All the scoring makes the game lack the drama of the NFL

Just face it, basketball will never be more popular than the NFL

There's a reason for that, football is simply a better game
