I think the point is that they'd have a more difficult road to the Super Bowl and it being a one and done scenario in the NFL there would be more opportunity for them to slip up.

I think the pats deserve a bit more credit for beating one of the best teams that didn't win it all, the 04 eagles. They did start 13-1. But yeah it was weak af outside of the eagles that year since two 8-8 team not only made the playoffs but won playoff games as well
