He doesn’t have the clout or backing. Some of the older established republicans are so shook of Trump/MAGA. Once buddy croaks they’ll make an attempt to regain control of their party

He might not be as charismatic as Cheeto but the base is indoctrinated, as long as he's seen as the MAGA successor they'll still support him.
