Most American news media is not meant to inform or educate. It all just pushes agendas which aren’t beneficial to social cohesion, cultivating community and general societal wellness.
For example, we can consciously blame Fox for elevating Trump for a reality TV star to the Presidency but in my opinion CNN and MSNBC are culpable too. They reported on his every move like a gossip channel. They made a very dangerous man appear accessible, goofy and comedic instead of portraying him as the vile racist, rapist and beast he is. It was disturbing to watch. If Trump had been a black man, the media would’ve driven it home that he is a bad man but instead they quietly lionized the man
