Nationally, it’s the same. It’s called the CPAT.
You gotta walk on a stair master for 4 minutes, drag an adult dummy, search & rescue maze, hose deployment, Carry heavy tools among other things. All while wearing a 50 lb vest.
Easy, I walked thru most of the course and I still finished with like a minute left.
But like I said previously, that is pale in comparison to what you do at an actual building fire.
Unfortunately, once you graduate the fire academy you’re no longer forced to keep up with your physical fitness. I work with dudes who are north of 350lbs with gear on. You think you pulling them down from a 3rd floor apartment if shyt hits the fan?
