Then where the fukk are the jacked up heaps of charisma at?

If the current crop of WWE talent aren't pulling in mainstream attention like Hogan, Austin, Cena because they don't look or talk or act like wrestlers, then where is this magical wrestler that will do that?

It isn't Roman (I think he lacks charisma as an overly scripted face). He's not in the Indys apparently. Is he in the Performance Center? Is the WWE developing the next Hogan down in Florida? Could they have just fired the man who would return WWE to 4.0 ratings glory in due time?

Or is blaming the talent a way to deflect from WWE's shyt booking and lack of awareness about it's audience? Or is it both talent and booking?

Good point Queen:jbhmm:

Think of all the big guys WWE has brought in over the past 5 years

Big Andy....Trash
Mason Ryan....Trash
Jackson Andrews aka Fake Test....Trash
Eli Cottonwood....Trash
Ascension...had no chance from the start
Braun Strowman....I'll give him a chance
Big Cass...pretty good, just don't break away from Enzo
Big E....charismatic dude
Luke Harper....Good
Erick Rowan....terrible singles run

This idea that smaller wrestlers are ruining wrestling are false, two of the most popular wrestlers this decade were a straight-edge skinny fat wrestler from Chicago and a small lumberjack from Aberdeen, Washington, and they didn't get over by accident. :manny:

There's a reason why people like Vince Russo don't have a job right now.

Unless you're a legit 6'5"-6'10" athlete like Lesnar or Lashley, fans ain't trying to see the 7 foot shyt in 2016. Wrestling has evolved, I don't know why folks don't get that :mindblown: get your fukking head out of 1999

If Vince McMahon is back to being a billionaire again which he hasn't been since 2001, what exactly is being "ruined" right now? :leostare:

Rollins, Balor, and Nakamura moving merch right now....

Who's buying these shirts? It's surely not those "neckbeards" who don't contribute to the business :russ:

I don't think size has much to do with the problem. The creative and booking is pretty terrible and has been for a long time. Their two biggest angles of the last 5-7 years showed how inept they are most of the fime. One (the pipe bomb) was initially their best booked angle in years (and the last real mainstream attention they got). It should have kicked off a true new era, but they couldn't help but self sabotage to prove a point. The other angle (Bryan) was gifted to them even though they had to be forced to embrace it.

As for the vanilla part, most of the greatest wrestlers in history went through a "vanilla" stage before finding their niche. The problem now is that everyone is given their niche whether it works for them or not. I can't blame the talent here because guys like Kofi, E and Woods were as vanilla as it gets until they were allowed to show some of their real personality in their characters. I can't believe that our if 100 guys you only have about 5 who have any kind of personality. Who knows if we have another great on the horizon when he isn't allowed to go through the growing pains to get there. :francis:

I brought this up because I got into a debate about it this morning. The guy appeared to been blaming the talent, threw up Daniel Bryan as a guy the machine was behind and they still lost money and ratings, said that the Indy's don't have the next mainstream star and that the WWE needs to develop homegrown talent as if the Performance Center isn't full of former football players and Cross Fit junkies. I wish I could link the thread but it's all over the place.

Said Rollins can't be mainstream and he's too busy trying to get himself over.
Said none of these guys look like wrestlers and when I said it's 2016 (implying that times are different) he maintained that casuals want to see guys who look like wrestlers and not fat guys. Cited Russo and Court Bauer as if Russo's opinions always hold weight.
Said the WWE has convinced us that these guys are the BITW. Cited ROH and Chikara as not being moneymakers and mainstream viable.
Basically, smarks are ruining wrestling. The WWE needs a mainstream audience. I said fukk the casuals because the casuals always leave when the boom is over. They left when Hogan left, I know tons of people that left when Austin and Rocky left, people are now leaving as Cena is on his way out. So many excuses.
