I won’t be in school debt and I already have 12+ years experience. And I won’t be leaving my current job for at least 8 more years. I just have the opportunity to do it but is it worth it?:jbhmm:

If you don’t plan on leaving your current job then no. Depending on the school a masters can fast track you to the top fortune companies with the kush salaries but if you’re gonna stay at the same company you’re just putting yourself into debt.

A masters can lose a lot of value in the first two years.

Depends on your line of work, you better off getting an mba than a masters imo if you’re going for a graduate program

What type of career field are you in and what is the field of study you are trying to pursue for the Masters?
Pursuing Masters in supply chain management. I’m in the military and I already have my bachelors. Not gonna retire from the military for at least 8 more years

If the company is paying for it or will give you money after pursing it. There are so many companies out there that will write the check after 5+ years of working for them (depending on industry)

A masters is only worth it for 3 reasons

1.) if you truly need it
2.) if it makes your resume look better and your company is paying for it
3.) or if you are going for a career change and it only requires to have one.

For example someone in finance who wants to switch to a physician assistant or something

I thought you was in corporate. Military a whole different ball game. If you in the military and gonna stay in till you retire, then getting a maters wouldn’t be the worst idea. Cause they gonna pay for it and not like you can just network your way to the top in the military.

Coming out of the military retired with just a bachelors degree gonna make you a super attractive ass candidate. I honestly don’t know how much more value a masters may add, even though I’m sure it will add some. But if you don’t hate school, might as well. If you hate school, fukk that shyt cause you already gonna be able to get you a nice lil bag and plenty of offers being freshly retired military with a bachelors
