To those in Jersey, most definitely :wow:
That place was a warzone before the storm.

But what if you have a generator...and THEY dont

who's getting jacked for generators right now in NYC/NJ though? breh you're proposing a hypothetical of an actual factual occurrence happening right now. who the hell is saying "damn I should've had my gun" right now

the point is that it only devolves into a violent situation like that if your community and local government are predisposed to breaking down like that

Not having a gun when you need it is 1000x worse than not having a flashlight and needing it.

perhaps, but chances are you will encounter situations where you need a flashlight and not a gun

it's pretty civil here plus you need a car to steal a generator... gas is scarce and traffic is a bytch. it ain't worth it.

Katrina was way worse than Sandy.
For Katrina, a generator would have been useless because everything was under water. People were trapped in New Orleans not knowing how bad it really was. A gun would be good for personal protection but you really needed to get away where there was food and water.

For Sandy, the water receded but power was out so a generator would be useful. The buses and subways started to provide service not too long afterwards. Depending on what grid your home is in, you might have power and you might not have power. So, you can at least travel to where the power, food and water are.
