I didn't realize a serpentine belt and timing belt were 2 different things :ohhh:

I had something break on my old mercury. Paid $400 to fix it. My car dead azz stopped on the hiway:mjlol:

I have a 2014 Equinox. The warranty is over. Do u think it's worth buying a 3rd party warranty? Are they expensive :patrice:

So far my motor blower went out and I need to replace my motor mounts/balls cuz they're leaking. I swear I never had these issues right away with my older car.

I purchased both brand new.
Serpentine belt is another name for the power steering belt.

What did you have to replace when your car stopped?

See if the dealership offers an extended warranty?

Every mid-90's and early 2000's Honda I ever owned this was drilled into my head especially noting what could happen if it broke.
Depends if you have an interference or non-interference engine.

If interference, your engine would likely need to be replaced to due to piston/valve damage.

If non-interference, most likely engine would only need to be re-timed with a new timing belt.

EDIT: Apparently all Honda engines are interference engines except 3.0L & 3.2 so that's probably why you said mid-90s and early 2000s.

What year you got? Hit up LKQ or Keystone Automotive for engines

@NerdNash timing belt snapped on my godbro 2004 Avalon . I had mentioned to him when he got it almost two years ago that I could do it for $350(family discount).

This nikka had like 225k on the original belt. Should’ve been changed years ago :gucci:

I told fam he might as well just cop a new whip, even tho Toyota motors from that era are pretty cheap nowadays
