So many facts and science.

:wobadass: Nice response. It's a jumping off point. It's also an issue that's been addressed quite often at TED talks and this person isn't the only one to be asserting these things. Maybe defensive condescension shouldn't be your thing until you actually learn more about what you're talking about?

In the article you linked the designer of Durex and Tefal said that there is "possibly" a man living now who will live for 1000 years.

This is the kind of information you will find in a mental house on a wall written in shyt.

Just research the topic, dude. Here's a jumping off point since you're too dumb to figure out Google or understand how the progression of medical science works:

Aubrey de Grey: A roadmap to end aging | Video on TED.com

An article about SENS published in the viewpoint section of EMBO Reports by 28 scientists concluded that none of de Grey's therapies "has ever been shown to extend the lifespan of any organism, let alone humans". The SENS Foundation, of which de Grey was a co-founder, seems to agree with the EMBO Report as it states, "If you want to reverse the damage of aging right now I'm afraid the simple answer is, you can't." Nonetheless, De Grey argues that this reveals a serious gap in understanding between basic scientists and technologists and between biologists studying aging and those studying regenerative medicine. The 24-member Research Advisory Board of his own SENS Foundation have signed an endorsement of the plausibility of the SENS approach.

If Im Staying In My 20's-30's I Would Say Yeah

Im Not Rich Though So It Would Be A Bummer Knowing I'd Have To Go To Work In The Morning For The Rest Of Eternity

I'd Hate To Be Around For The End Of The World Though, That Will Be True Hell On Earth Like Nothing That's Every Been Witnessed

Im Not One Of Those "The World Is Gonna End Soon" People, I Think The Earth Still Has Some Millions Of Years Left In It, But It WILL End Eventually

He's not the only one who thinks that this can happen.

Also, I gotta point out that it says that you can't do it RIGHT NOW but it didn't say that it would be impossible in the future. Maybe you should read more carefully before you respond?

nikka i'm not trying to be here when the sun goes supernova...are u out ya muthafukkin mind?

wow....u a moron........our Sun is not massive enough to go supernova.....it will simply become a Red Giant and consume most of the inner planets when it grows in size......then it will dissipate and leave behind a white dwarf

and remember this event is going to happen 4 billion years from now......more than enough time for humanity to master space travel and colonize other planets

when the Sun becomes a Red Giant, moons like Europa and Titan could become habitable

What you don't understand is that they are not saying the technology exists now or in the next few years to enable someone to live for 1,000 years, but rather, we are adding more years to peoples lives. Thus, many people under 30 today will be able to live into their hundreds. Once that happens, the future technology that exists in 2100 will allow these people to live indefinitely.

You should know that we are only at the cusp of learning about the power of biotechnology. Once that matures and nanotech comes about, we should be able to accomplish some magical things medically. It actually isn't a stretch if you have studied the coming technologies in these areas. Its highly likely that there are many people living today that might live to be immortal.

You said it much better than I did. I regret having given all my positive rep out today because you've earned it. :myman:

Everyone would have their own thoughts about the topic, but I guess, in todays tough life no one would like to live that much longer, other than someone is living and leading to a luxuries life and having no worries what so ever.
