The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
Teach kids about personal and macro economics

Teach kids how to use computers in a useful way (i.e. Excel up through Pivot Tables and basic programming)

Expand free public school up through the master's level

Bonus would be to create co-ops or trade apprenticeships for kids from like the 9th grade on during the summers

There is no reason for America to be in such a dearth of skilled employees

This country would truly be a completely different ball game if people grew up with financial literacy. Dap+rep

Open tracking. Starting in the 6th grade, kids, with their parents' permission, should be able to take accelerated classes. If they can't keep up with a C or better then they go back to regular classes. Currently advanced classes get watered down so that everyone can pass.

Stop teaching foreign language as a subject. During the summer offer a foreign language lab where students learn the 2000 most common words in a language using the techniques in the book Fluent Forever. When the school year starts have students take two courses conducted entirely in that language, say history and science. The kids will be fluent in one year. They won't be tested on grammar rules, their teacher will simply correct mistakes as they show up and the kids will learn naturally.

Eliminate grades until high school. If a child receives lots of red marks on homework or tests, then his goal is to keep improving in order to reduce the red marks.

Even tho it would never happen..

Start it in 6th grade and continue until the end of hs.
Also let the kids open up a bank account for children at a bank.
