I've had multiple dates with women I met on the train ride home from where the conversation just flowed and was fun. This is coming from a introvert, if you're not into keeping a conversation flowing then why are you even there? Some of this stuff is basic, and it's like some people either lost that skill, or didn't learn it.

Yea, I give chicks the benefit of the doubt too much but one word replies (really lack of engagement in general) has almost always meant lack of interest. Trying to press on with someone who has checked out is a fools errand…even if they never checked in.
