IG reels disappear over time because it's emulating snapchat...save a copy to show the next generation to enjoy how it really felt like
think of all the worldstar clips, myspace and realplayer songs that go missing once those platforms aren't as popping anymore
remember that clip when meek mill was doing some motorcycle balancing stunt in the middle of the street just to lose control and hit the backside of a parked SUV while the bike skidded a few more yards? I can't refind that clip anywhere, and that shyt was rampantly posted all over the place, including tumblr, twitter, etc...that shyt got wiped because meek mill was the face of prison reform people wanted to get meek out of jail when he popped a wheelie but it was still a classic clip
it might get reposted on youtube as a compilation but with all the curses taken out or is missing some clips but doesn't hit as hard or is as funny without the curses
don't be lazy or passive thinking that someone else will do it, you save a copy

we got tweeters and deleters for posts that last a few hours max, and people not playing fair in the middle of beef with lawyers putting up cease and desist copyright strike claims on uploaded media, so anything can go absent as 'lost media' at any moment
if we got people on front line scouring for tweets and IG feeds, might as well save a copy once you're on the page, too
compared to searching around and not find it years later outside of a general description by memory 
because the original post didn't have a caption, just an image/video post, so it's a lot of scrolling to find loose posts with no words to find them by all the time
get a local external hard drive and not any cloud subscription because they own that too
otherwise, leave the clips un-renamed and upload them to like an empty tiktok account and compile those into some sleeper private account if you don't want to put any of the saved clips in local storage, incase someone else goes thru your shyt and finds them, like what?
youtube/tumblr/reddit has been somewhat of an unforgiving platform with their censorship/copyright compliance based on lawyers/stans/agencies reporting them so you can try uploading saved clips onto other platforms not bound by US laws as well, hell even try uploading clips onto xvideos or other porn platforms if you need to ask JBO
