All facts. One of the best secrets of life to maintaining your peace of mind.

Even here on the coli , I read certain thread titles and say nah I ain't clicking on that garbage.

Also the older I get I see that there's nothing wrong with being "judgemental". Im not saying walk around wagging your finger at people and preaching at people....I'm saying IN YOUR OWN MIND having a set of rules that you abide by when it comes to people you do or don't allow into your life.

For example, people who use profanity alot I tend to avoid. More than likely if you can't talk without using profanity you're a hothead and/or have little to no respect for yourself and others. Excessive profanity can be a sign of the demon within.

Having a laundry list of "red flags" when it comes to people and content you consume can definitely maintain your peace.

What makes it worse is… a lot of it is not real

From dating shows and skits with actors to fake news to AI or Russian bots

Spooky times:wow:
Bruh. Somebody needs to make a thread about this.

Alot of the content out here is literally fake / staged and people just blindly believe it .

Even these stories where 2 people go on a date and one of the people does something crazy like running up the tab then ghosting be fake. It's all for outrage and to create division.

If it goes "viral" I take it with a grain of salt.

I’m in the news business and I’m still able to follow this logic. People are surprised when I tell them I’m not up on a lot of shyt going on. Those police killing black people videos, I stopped watching those years ago. I mean after covering Walter Scott, Keith Scott, Jonathan Ferrell, Danquirs Franklin, the protests after George Floyd, and I’ll just say etc in case I missed any, I just said I can’t do that kinda media anymore. It was actually making me depressed. I had to force myself to find a hobby or two because I would go cover the protest of these shootings and then go home. That shyt is tough man.. I mean literally seeing people crying, watching people being tear gassed myself included, having to run and being shot by tear gas and rubber bullets. I just said to myself that I’m going to do the best I can to protect my peace with all this shyt and it’s been working so far. I don’t let any of this stuff get to me.. I try not to anyway. Like these ā€œlistsā€ people I know are making their own and I’m like aight I’m out lol.

MAN. This thread is talking right to me.

I never had Facebook, but I have Twitter & IG. I've been thinking hard about deleting both. Seeing black men & women attack each other all day is tiresome as hell.

I can easily delete Twitter, but IG is harder because that's how I communicate with family in other states/out the country

I have no idea of what’s going on locally or worldwide on a detailed level. I honestly don’t care either. I just had this conversation with my sister earlier this week. We both fell back from the news, social media that isn’t on positive vibes, etc. years ago and I didn’t know we had both independently arrived at the same conclusion, it’s all bullshyt to manipulate different groupsā€˜ actions.

I almost didn’t come into this thread because I thought it might be a ā€œgotchaā€ thread with a bait title. As I’ve told many people, my peace is paramount.
