I am not being disingenuous. What you are doing, is engaging in a slippery slope fallacy.

Someone that is born is a person.

Someone that isn't born is not a person.

This is what you are computing

"Well unborn fetuses are helpless - that means you would kill an helpless old person or a baby!"

This isn't logical.

Personhood is a philosophical and legal definition. By law, in most Western countries and developed countries, the unborn aren't people. They don't have rights whatsoever because they don't have agency.

Let's make this simple.

Babies are people.
Kids are people.
Teens are people.
Young adults are people.
The elderly are people.

The unborn aren't people.

What makes the unborn different than babies, kids, teens, young adults and the elderly?

If you can figure this out, we have hope for the future of our country.

And once I

LEGALLY

wasn't a person

The babies, the kids, the adults and the elderly were

LEGALLY

objects. Property.

So forgive me if I work off of science and logic, not law. In fact, law would improve if it was based on what I base my worldview on.

Gonna start using more logic. Careful.

You have one baby that is born at 5 months.

You have one baby that is killed at 5 months in an abortion.

The born baby can grow up to be a normal person. So how are they so radically different that one should be able to be cut to pieces.

Now a 1 month fetus can't possibly be born and live

Therefore, 1 month is clearly on the side of the line that you are arguing for. I'd say the 1 month pregnancy is not a person yet.

So that's how that works. Lets say the Baby is 8 months, ready to be born, then she says... "wait" "how about abortion instead?" So they chop him up 60 seconds before he was gonna be born.

You're telling me that some transformation occurs that makes him not a person. But then 1 minute later he woulda been a person?

You're kind of sort of on the right track but this whole "THIS is a real person, THiS is not" stuff is just illogical.

I have said a few times:

Two months is a good cutoff. So I'm no absolutist. But late term abortion is in fukking sane. Period.

Bruh.

You the one that are backtracking.

My point is simple. Unborn fetuses aren't people period. Once the fetus is born it is a person. You can't be a person, living inside another person - period.

Here is how a philosopher defines the criteria of a person
https://www.iep.utm.edu/abortion/#H2
Mary Anne Warren claims that a human life form should qualify as a person when, at least, some of the following aspects (especially i-iii) are at stake: (i) consciousness and the ability to feel pain; (ii) reasoning; (iii) a self-motivated activity; (iv) ability to communicate; and (v) the existence of a self-concept (for example, individual, racial) and self-consciousness (Warren 1984, 110-113). Warren argues that the fetus is no person since it lacks the criteria of personhood and, thus, an abortion is justified.

A fetus can do none of these. The mother can. Thus the mother trumps the fetus.

Whether they are born or not is up to the mother or fate.

I have no business and no interest in forcing a woman to have a pregnancy - period. The mother's rights to her body trumps the fetus, no matter what in my book. Forcing women have to babies is pretty fukking cruel.

Late termination of pregnancy - Wikipedia
Only 1 percent of abortions in the USA are performed late.

This is more of your slippery slope kind of thinking, finding the most extreme situations and trying to be right, finding the most extreme situations like a woman having an abortion at 8 months when that shyt rarely goes on anywhere in the civilized world. :mjlol:

Imagine how you'd react if a surgeon refused to fix your broken leg because you voluntarily signed up for a broken leg by playing basketball.
