Respawn on Xbox One work: Will not exclude other consoles from future projects

The team at Respawn Entertainment only worked on the Xbox One and PC versions of Titanfall, and that undoubtedly had to help the team hit their launch date without having to delay the game past its March 11th launch date.
In speaking about whether or not having Respawn work just on the Xbox One and PC builds of Titanfall, helped them hit their launch date, Abbie Heppe, who is the community manager at Respawn, agreed that it did and said they wouldn't say no to other consoles in future projects.
"Absolutely. I mean we're not a huge team, there's about 80 on the dev side, so we're still under a hundred people when all is said and done so being able to focus on one platform, because PC development is not too far off, is great.
"It really let us focus, it really let us build this game to be what it needed to be and get it out without taking years and years, that we don't really have, to ship a game.
"So absolutely letting us focus was great, and it's not excluded from future projects that we might do, that we would broaden what consoles we release on, but for this one sure," Heppe said.
When it comes to just working on a build for PC and either the Xbox One or PS4, developers have immediately stated how similar the architectures are, allowing them to create similar builds for both.
As developers and publishers start to move away from the Xbox 360 and PS3, they should have an easier time focusing on similar builds, versus having to do different ones for current and next-generation consoles.
Many people expect Respawn Entertainment to bring their next game, whether that is Titanfall 2 or not, to the PS4, in addition to the Xbox One. This is especially true when you think about how EA is very adamant about being a multi-platform company.
We'll all find out soon enough what is next for Respawn, but in the meantime, Titanfall is available on Xbox One and PC.
