bodie was done. he didnt have the fight in him anymore. poot staying woud have gotten them both killed. i used to think poorly of poot the first time i watched the wire, but i began to respect him after rewatches

Man bodie was on some one man army shyt, and he didn’t have no back up, he was proving a point for no damn reason, i get he was mad, but you literally killed mike b Jordan’s character because he was snitching so you know how serious this shyt is and it’s all in the Game, poot knew this was a death sentence and it wasn’t worth trying to prove no damn point

Poot wasnt a shooter like that.

But Its not like Poot just dipped. He tried to get B to roll with him.

This is why the wire is such a good show. Without B really saying anything, the way that scene is shot, it just screams that B had made his mind up. He was ready to die on that corner.

By that time, he was smart enuff to know he wouldnt go from a pawn to a king like he mentioned in S1.

I'm not saying poot never pulled a trigger...

I'm saying hes not a shooter "like that"...

I mean he left his boy 2 die and ended up working in footlocker.

The Wire had plenty of SHOOTERS. Poot wasnt one of them.

Bodie was looking for a way out, but he kinda knew the only way out was death. If he tried to leave the game he would've gotten the itch and been right back in the game shortly. If he left to another town they probably wouldn't have left him alone and forced him back in. His brother was killed and he basically had nothing to live for, look at his face when he turns to Poot, it's like he almost told him, "this ain't how I wanna go out, but this is my only opportunity out the game" :francis:

Bodie made him get out of there...

dope shyt about that scene is that bodie died while attacking/shooting diagonally like Pawns on the chess board like D’angelo taught him back in season 1.
:ohhh:

Such a raw ass scene and dialogue.

This Basically set the tempo for the entire series.

Poot was another D'Angelo stuck in the game. Good person but wasn't about that life. All poot wanted was the cooch. Bruh survived the game and as he got older, ended up at a dead end job (poot selling shoes in season 4)

Bodie knew this. Didn't want him to go down like that.

Poot understood.
