Let's say you're good friends with an astronomer or high level government official that knows an Australia sized asteroid is on a clear direct path to hit earth some time in April 2024. And he shows/gives you proof of this epic event that would undoubtedly wipe out all life on earth in the scariest way imaginable. Then he commits suicide or is killed after he shows you the proof and now you're the only civilian that has this information.

Who would you tell? if anybody

And would that even be a good idea, knowing the mass hysteria and global lawlessness it would cause.

I'd probably block it out like watching a cartel video but it would haunt me. Probably create a fake reddit account and start leaving little snarky hints and what not. I don't think I'd have the patience to tell people cause most likely they gonna do me like Anthony Fauci at best and NASA might try to get me out the paint at worst.
