I am not suggesting that I share this belief, but there are Black people who has stated on video that you, myself and anyone else should be able to handle your own business w/o getting the police involved.

To me, people who think this way has deep ties to the streets or has a big reputation in the streets. Because handling your own business will more than likely involve violence which may include the use of weapons which in turn would put you at risk of getting killed or going to prison.

The latter isn't something the average person is willing to do, so I say that you have to do whatever you feel is necessary to keep yourself & family safe.

A lot of people can't admit they're wrong or let shyt go. Even if they're wrong, if its not a life or death issue, just take that L so you can squash it. Be man enough to be like "you right. I fukked up. My bad".

Think about this..

Many people within our culture adopt street rules and regulations. You already know that many Black people don't fukk with the police. You know the reasons why. So, why would someone who don't trust the police call the police to handle disputes?

I say do what you gotta do. If you call the police, then please make sure you have enough proof/evidence to clear yourself of ANY wrongdoing, especially in a domestic dispute.

Op you're question sounds like victim blaming. We have a right to expect the police to do there jobs without hurting people.

As a homeowner if I see things that are bringing my property value down then I'm calling the police.

I agree. A lot of issues could be resolved, if people simply swallowed their pride & set their egos aside.

The police should be a last resort. I believe conflict resolution skills need to be taught at home as well at schools.
