Search ends with 3 West Covina burglary suspects in custody – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

Police caught three burglary suspects after a chase in West Covina Thursday night, while two other suspects got away.

The three arrested men had been in the U.S. for six days and gave police addresses in Chile, West Covina Sgt. Michelle Figueroa said.

Police received a call at 8:26 p.m. about a burglary in progress in the 2800 block of East Hillside Drive, the sergeant said, with the resident seeing the suspects on surveillance video.

Police chased a car seen leaving the home, she said, until in the 1400 block of Hollencrest Drive the five suspects abandoned the vehicle and ran.

A couple of police dogs were deployed, and three suspects were found hiding in brush on a hillside, Figueroa said.

Manuel Lagos, 23, Marcelo Bustamonte, 25, and Claudio Marcelo Donoso, 19, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and possession of burglary tools, Figueroa said.

Booking records show the three were being held at West Covina jail on $50,000 bail each.
