That conversation didn't happen in your Illmatic thread. And you didn't have a response when I pointed out that unfold makes sense in the context, if it didn't, you wouldn't have been able to ascertain that he meant unroll.

And I stand by my statement that the overwhelming majority of hip hop fans (or really, humans) have never seen much less handled a scroll and would not care that the most precise word for opening a scroll was used.

If "unfold the scroll" doesn't make any sense whatsoever, explain how you were able to figure out that "unroll" was the word he should have used? How do you know he didn't mean cut the scroll? Eat the scroll? Massage the scroll? Use the scroll as a blunt object to bludgeon one to death?

If unfold makes zero sense in the context, aren't the other possibilities I listed (along with literally millions of other potential meanings) just as likely?
