my bro told me something that is 100,000% true and correct

"Sam cassell been coaching for years.
Jerry Stackhouse coaching.
Even Chris Paul coaching AAU teams.
JJ: zero coaching experience.
1 podcast with Bron. Gets the job.
Goat debate is been over but now over for real."

These are FACTS. I love the Lakers, been rocking with the Lakers forever but there's so much mismanagement.
Bron flexing his LeGM power and getting his podcast co-host the job of Head Coach in the NBA is a massive issue for his legacy unless these dudes win it all OR at least make it to the Finals. I'm rooting for these dudes obviously, but not playing a Center... not using Vando... not using Knecht... this is inexcusable brehs.

MJ would *NEVER* try to get someone in as a Head Coach becaues they're golf buddies. He lived for 1 thing: rings and being the best in the world.
The barbie doll drop makes no sense right before the playoffs start - but the legacy will be messed up if he does everythign to get a coach who is arrogant, stubborn, short with the press when they ask basic questions and ultimately get the Lakers no results.

I pray it's Lakers in 7 but without depth in the roster (GM) or basic coaching skills (JJ Redikk) it's going to be very tough. LeBron will likely go OFF tonight and Luka too, I'm expecting at least 40 from one of them. But without good coaching.. it may not matter. And again: This is Bron's pick for coach, he wasn't forced to be coached by this dude.

No coach is making up for the fact they don't have a frontcourt going up against a team with arguably the deepest frontcourt in the playoffs.

Whether the Lakers lose in this round or the next is going to come down to the fact they have a roster imbalance.

This should've been clear to anyone paying attention during the regular season. If your main big is Jaxson Hayes, then you lost before you even begun.

Of course it was clear to everyone.

The imbalance was clear BUT during the regular season they made it work with solutions to the deficiencies.

Now, JJ Redikk has thrown the entire plan/playbook/advice from his assistant coaches out the window - and has basically said "I don't trust my bench, at all".

He's not even using bench players to make the life of players out there hard or to bring any toughness to this series.
He killed the chemistry by not playing a center, telling the bench "you stink" basically, and now playing a dude who hasn't played 45 days before anyone on his bench.

So yes - this was not a championship team BUT if at one point you're #2 in the west you can do SOMETHING in the playoffs.

There's a difference between what works in the regular season and what works in the playoffs. Teams always shorten their rotation in the postseason, so I don't know what you're trying to get at here.

LeBron getting JJ and Bronny jobs is looking funny in the light.
I totally get that as an NBA player you want to live that dream of playing with your son.
Maybe 1 or 2 players in the league and maybe 3-5 players in history could've pulled this off.

Whether we like it or not that is 2 things that did not make the Lakers a more competitive team.
Bronny can become a real NBA player, but not today, not next season - it's a power play that did not benefit the Lakers.

This is true.

Regular season intensity is nothing versus playoff games.

I was still hoping to see some of the things that we saw in spurts: aggression, focus, execution, good passing, everyone getting back on defense etc. This is on the coach, the mindset of the group, being ready, being prepared..
