The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
RD & Vol 1 mite be his best 2 albums... but Vol 2

- helped him get that crossover appeal (howd he clear the Annie sample :mindblown: )
- unified + gave NY direction after Biggie died (Reservoir Dogs)
- turned him from "that In My Lifetime skinny nikka on the boat" to the KONY (for a little while anyway)
- helped him spread his reach outside of NY for real (A Week Ago, Money Ain't A Thang)
- was low key the moment NY rap went from that broody mafioso shyt to being fun again
- first Jay disc to go plat quickly (5x plat as opposed to 1x plat to date for RD & Vol 1)

Summer of 99 was :ohlawd:

Vol 2 was the defining moment that separated Jay from being a drug dealer who rapped to a multiplatinum hip hop icon

All that platinum shyt he was talking on "Imaginary Players" became real :lolbron:

You forgot when he hijacked Can I Get A... and nikka What. Those were vital in speading his name across the mainstream. I played Vol. 2 a week ago and didn't really like it like i used to.

I found the Vol 1-3 albums to be weak ended up taking the best cuts and making a playlist out of it
