This guy had been trying to chisel me from the jump. Just hard selling upsells left and right. Trying to throw little things here and there. Quoting prices, then re-quoting them at higher prices less than a week later. Missing dates when delivery was promised. Excuses, excuses, excuses. And to top it off, a total unwillingness to work with me in getting what I want. It's like they insisted on delivering a product that they knew I'd disapprove of to get me to pay more money to get it to something somewhat satisfactory. I thought I could just overlook everything that gave me pause and trudge ahead but it wasn't happening. Who knew holding firm and saying "No, I don't want to spend the extra money," was enough to get this clown to start behaving so disrespectful. When people wouldn't buy my upsells I'd be like "No big deal." and keep it moving. This clown took it to heart.
At least now I know what bottle I want to use. I know what the label is going to look like for the most part. All I have to do is go to one of the other companies that said "We can do that" and say "Okay, show me a mockup. It needs to look like this and it needs to go on these bottles." And if they give me a whole bunch of shyt to get me something in my hands then they can eat a dikk.
I didn't get into this to write a bunch of checks to some something for nothing snakes. I've done enough sales to know when I'm being hustled and treated poorly. I also have a deep knowledge of grapic design so I'm not going to let "creative services" charge me for their fukk ups. I have options and I have a better idea of what's going to be needed to pull this off.
The next people I go to are going to have a good idea of what I DON'T want to see from them. Which I'm finding out is something you need to outline from the jump if you want a working relationship that's going function properly.
The way I look at it is if this guy is going to be a dikk about a few hundred bucks what happens when it's a few thousand bucks? How is he going to act when real money is on the line? How's he going to act when something needs to get done faster? Is he going to do the right thing? Or is he going to be a snake? Well, he exposed himself there. At least it was early in the process.
