I definitely agree with timing, fit, and just so happening to fall into the right place at the right time. And you know I was on the keep BBJ and Moussa at least one more year especially since PG, Westbrook, and Plumlee left. That was reason number one. The second is because these picks, outside of a Luka, Wemby, etc., takes 2-3 years before you know what's what on them. Even the top lottery picks like Antman, Cade, etc. take 2-3 years to become "those guys" if they even pan out. I've given a pass on BBJ being let go, but this is inexcusable. We saw Moussa's motor, hustle, athleticism, and rebounding ability last season and yes he wasn't playing over Plumlee and Zu, Zu being the starter. I'm just saying this was going to be the year if BBJ and Moussa pan out.. and they're panning out but on different teams. Bad teams but the competition is real. Seen Moussa go head up with Giannis, Jokic, Zu, Gafford, Wemby, etc. and still held his own.

Lawrence Frank said the focus was winning getting younger and more athletic as a team in the offseason. We're older and slower than ever now. In years past they could get away with missing out on a prospect, but not now with our non existent draft capital, aging roster, and the new CBA and its aprons. Any prospect with a sliver of potiential has to be explored, poked and prodded with this current state that the team is in. They kicked Moussa to the curb to try and "unlock" vagabond Mo Bamba, he didn't even last till all star break and is currently out of the league. Kai Jones probably won't sniff the main team for the rest of the season, and now were on our 3rd back up big in Eubanks. Lue gave KPJ the longest leash in the history of man to play though mistakes and turn the ball over every other possession and now he's out. Moussa, BBJ and now Kobe, Miller, Cam Christie, Trentyn Flowers, Kai Jones, etc. can't get even get a 3-5 game leash to see what they truely have to offer. But KPJ got like 40 games.

Now Harden is old, slow, exhausted. I don't know if Kawhi needs more games to shake off the rust or he's actually in the downward spiral part of his career. Dunn can't shoot and Batum is washed. Now we're hoping Bogban still has something in the tank. If he's washed we're screwed. Mann gone, KPJ gone, Bones is gone. We acquired 38 year old Patty Mills with Eubanks, great job! Other teams are the beneficiaries of our G League Clippers, not us. This team is f*cking mess right now. They have the "umbrella plan" of having open cap space in '26-'27, no trading of draft picks, and letting contracts expire, but the day to day plan is throwing shyt against the wall and seeing what sticks. Gotta develop players period. Nobody is going to save us in '26-'27. If there's a notabaly free agent they'll be hand devlivered to the Lakers on a silver platter. We can't miss out on players anymore. It is what it is. -end of rant
Its crazy to think trading Shai is the biggest reason for the Clippers downfall :bryan:

That's long over with even though we're still suffering from the effects. Just stop passing up prospects and players with potiential when we don't have much draft capital. That's all.

The championship window for this team is shut. They're going to be treading water until they get their picks back. No one that has left the Clippers has gone on to play winning basketball besides Shai and Hartenstein. Everyone has only gotten run on bad, tanking, or injured teams with no stakes.

Kawhi showed flashes like he might be back to 80% and has looked cooked ever since.

3. LA Clippers

Any time you can dump all your bad contracts, escape the luxury tax and somehow come out ahead on draft picks, that has to be worthy of applause.

I don’t think the Clippers’ deadline work is getting enough attention, even if much of it was undoing previous mistakes. LA entered the deadline saddled with a regrettable extension (Terance Mann), a player option for next year they didn’t want to be picked up (Kevin Porter Jr.’s) and $17 million in non-performing money (P.J. Tucker and Bones Hyland).

In a series of three trades, they turned those four players into Bogdan Bogdanović and three expiring contracts (Drew Eubanks, Patty Mills and MarJon Beauchamp) and netted out at three seconds inbound and only one going out. Bogdanović has had an awful year in Atlanta after starring off the bench in 2023-24, but his team option for 2026-27 means the Clippers can cut bait after next year if he can’t rediscover his mojo.

Not exactly true. Its not BBJ's fault that Zion doesn't give a sh*t, BI is always injured, now traded, and Dejonte Murray blew his achilles. Moussa is balling, but he's not the star of team. That's on Melo, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, and Mark Williams. If everyone is healthy those aren't bad teams at all on paper. Keon Johnson is the only one on a team that's blatantly tanking. They're a few unknowns on winning teams, a few of our ex players could've ended up as pickups to higher seeded teams. And PG's situation is supposed to be magnificent, but they're one of the most disappointing underachieving teams I've ever seen.

Start of a new day today. Bogdan, Simmons, Beauchamp, Eubanks... well Eubanks just twisted his knee and that's like the third back up big we've gone through in the last two months. I just want to see Simmons run some point and give Harden a rest when needed instead of him playing entire 2nd halfs. Jordan Miller as a two way player only gets 50 games with the main team. He's currently at 48 games. They're not giving him a standard NBA contract. Adding Bogdan sealed his fate. Would like to see Kobe get some more run over an aging Batum. He looks like he's starting to turn the corner. We'll see.

Miller didn't have the level of success I was expecting. He's kind of in a purgatory where he's too good for g league but not good enough for the main team.

He lost confidence in his jumper and stopped shooting it and his slow motion Euro-step in the paint got shut down. Him hitting the three ball and defense is what was going to get him a NBA deal, but that's pretty much done now. Kawhi is back and too many other options on the squad now at his position. Beauchamp is considered a bust in Milwaukee. I though he was going to get waived but it looks like the front office is going to keep him and see if Lue and "unlock him" like they attempted to do with Mo Bamba, but failed.

NBA is difficult as fukk

It’s tough to stick around for 3 years much less rise from the ranks of 2nd round pick to rotation guy. Deuce McBride, Pritchard, Reaves, Max Christie etc. Those were all luck considering none of them jumped off the page in terms of ability

Clippers aren’t a draft pick team…they’re a Get More From Depreciated Assets team.

Can’t have it all

All them guys The Clippers let go were reclamation projects.

What they did with Mann and Coffey is great. Norm having the leap he did. They've done some good work but their drafting and player development overall has been hit or miss.

Yeah 2nd rounders have a major uphill battle just to become an end of the bench role player. They're more even considered draft busts anymore if/when they don't make it or stick to a team. Lob City was dying for wing help and looked far and wide but always came up empty. Mann, Coffey, BBJ, etc. would've been a godsend to them. But all you had was two rounds of the draft to work with. Now its the draft, a hundred prospects in Europe, Africa, S America, Australia, and a packed G League to pull players from.

When a team without much draft capital like us can release BBJ and Moussa and then pick up Cam Christie, Trentyn Flowers and reclamation projects in Kai Jones, KPJ, and Marion Beau champ, things done changed. That's why I believe we'll be able to get past "The Trade - 213 Era" debacle if we play it right and not suffer major injuries. Might not be lottery picks, but young talent is easier to come by now than in the past

Agreed, my only thing is that I thought BBJ & Moussa should've gotten one more year, especially with PG Russ, and Plumlee bouncing. They weren't going to get much looks with all the vets and 213 on the team last season so this would've been the year to really see if it was sink or swim for them. Unfortunately the Mo Bamba project played out just like how I thought it would.

Norm the people's All Star, Harden, and Ben Simmons was nice! Wish he had some type of jumper but his defense, rebounding, play making, and semi-running the offense will have Harden spending less energy. Lue did Zu dirty though. Can't bench a guy like that in the 4th with or without Simmons. When everyone was gassed I thought a few post ups for easy twos would've gotten us by in regulation instead of having to go into overtime. Still a badly needed win tho. Heading into all star break on a high note. We got some good pieces now. Can Ty figure it out?

The game turned once Utah’s quick guys couldn’t matchup hunt. This wasn’t a Zu game
