I'm kind of dissatisfied with my Switch (vent) *no stannery*

I've had this thing since summer 19 and I've gotten mad play time between Fire Emblem and BOTW but other than that I feel like this is the most mid console i've ever owned.

After watching the mini direct again today, I just kept thinking why do I own this thing? NMH3 looks like more bland hack n slash, Bravely Default looks like FF4 remake from 15 years ago, and some other mid.

The holiday line up this year is hyrule warriors which actually looks good, pikmin port, and retro fire emblem (timed digital release) and I can't remember the last time I bought an actual nintendo game on this thing. It's become my default indie game device rather than a nintendo device. Oh and two streaming ports of other mid- games.

online sucks, resolution sucks, battery sucks. I'm honestly holding on for BOTW 2 and SMTV at this point. Nintendo products are always so gassed because they are underdogs and i always fall for this shyt. People don't want to see their beloved nintendo that they grew up with go 3rd party. I think thats gonna change now that Gen Z grew up with ps2/ps3/360.

oh and my left joy-con has drift so handheld mode is out of the question until I send it in or replace it.

I got them all aside from xenoblade. Mario is a miss for me. Something about it is very unengaging and I really tried to like it, especially after spending 60 dollars on it.

pokemon I gave up in the 3rd gym. I'm not sure if pokemon was always so easy but I found myself not even paying attention half the time. I remember beating those gigantic gym pokemon with a basic unevolved pokemon using a weakness. That series hasn't grown up at all over 20 years. Wake me up when a developer can make an actual fun open world pokemon game.

I had high hopes for Temtem but from everything i've heard people have said it's not that great. Looks like they played it a little safe and close to the pokemon formula.

I want nintendo to give us a BOTW style leap with the pokemon series. The LORE is there, the Fanbase is there, the talent is there (monolith).

I go through times where I want to play Nintendo franchises so I’ll always have it on deck, but it is definitely a secondary console for me. Not big into Japanese games which is the bulk of its catalog.

Honestly, just get rid of the Switch and wait for the Switch Pro/ Switch successor and play BOTW 2 on there, the game ain’t going nowhere else.
