Respect, but I need books. Long story short, my cousin in doing some time and he was studying Programming/IT before he got sentenced.
He wants some books to read so when he comes out he can hit the ground running.

I got him an A+ study guide. Would having a record significantly affect his chances at getting a job in programming or IT?

depends... if he was convicted of a violent crime, he'll be bushed before even making it to the hr filter. there are a lot of guys in the field with records tho - mostly drug related, non-violent stuff. if the skillset and level of polish is where it needs to be, having a record is a hurdle that could be overcome.
sending him physical study materials is cool if he's only inside for a short stay. IT moves incredibly fast so if he's doing a serious bid, not only will most the stuff he learns be outdated by the time he gets out, but he wouldn't even have had the opportunity to do hands on labs to solidify that knowledge.

Alright cool, he's supposed to do a 2 year bid. His Amazon said his books should be in today or tomorrow.
