I am just going based on a thread where someone specifically said why do you think women use the phrase tall dark and handsome and that women should stop saying it if they had a problem with dark being associated with desirable manly men. I will see if I can find the quote. They used it in the wrong context because they were not talking about dark skinned black men.

Actually the two scenarios are different. The whole "dark skin" being masculine thing as far as blacks are concerned is something that black women started. They call guys like Drake and Prince "pretty" but guys like Idris Elba and Tyson Beckferd "handsome". That's not the same as the traditional "tall dark and handsome" mantra that whites say. The thing people want to forget is that if you say light skinned men are "pretty" why act surprised when that applies to women?
