I'm moving and I wanna get a gun. Never fired one, tho. (advice)

How should I go about this as a first time owner, total newbie. I've held a few revolvers and played gta but that's as far as it goes. My white gf is an excellent marksman but I wanna get in the game, too. Where should I start, brehs? I wanna know what I'm doing in case I have light skinned kids to protect in the future.

Check the gun laws in your state

Go buy a gun at a local shop (might need state ID and they will have to background check you)

Buy a simple glock

Register it

Have your white girlfriend train you how to hold it, stand, holster it, aim, etc.
