I always believed you should watch everything you and you'll figure out on your own which competitions are worth watching and which ones are not, which ones you enjoy watching and which ones you don't.
If you are American, you need to at the very least keep up with Liga MX and MLS so that you have some kind of clue of what is going on when WC qualifiers come around since a huge chunk of players in this region come from these 2 leagues.
Agree. Even American players get burn in Liga MX.
I've seen some MLS. Couple things about it. First, I do like the idea that it seems to be growing. At least in some areas. Nobody gives a fukk about New England Revolution or whatever the fukk around here but the teams in Seattle and LA and Atlanta seem to be doing well.
The quality of play tho.. I don't know. I like goals I guess so these 4-3 games are cool to an extent but the talent all seems like a bunch of has beens from the Euro leagues who are way past their prime or dudes who would never make it out of America.
I'm all for supporting the MLS. YES, we all know that the level of competition isn't as strong as Europe or South America, but every year it's gotten better and better. I equate it to cheering for your local college football or basketball team. Yes, it's not as good as the pros, but regional pride and cheering for your local team can actually be fun. The MLS is actually starting to become a good feeder league for some of the big leagues. Some MLS teams are really investing in their youth academies too.
You are right about the Revolution. No one cares about them. Personally I think the team should be moved elsewhere. If you are looking into following the MLS skip cheering for the local team and find one that is exciting to watch.
I'm a Sounders fan due to living in Seattle. We're having a terrible year, but I'm taking my 4 year old son to his first game in a couple weeks so watching him get excited will be worth it.
