I'm really beginning to think Big K.R.I.T is the best rapper of his generation

From a musically and skill standpoint I don't think there is anyone from this generation that can hang with KRIT from a duel-threat perspective. This dude has dropped 6 full-length projects since 2010 and has four production credits that belong to someone else. And let's be real, his mixtapes are albums. They are all thematic projects with a vision. He doesn't have a bad project and that's fact. His beats are vicious, soulful, bluesy, whatever. I am consistently blown-away by how good this guy is as a producer. Banana Clip Theory is a modern classic, and the perfect example of KRIT's skill. Listen to that song and take in that he did EVERYTHING. That shyt is poetic. Brilliant storytelling and concept. The beat too is a masterpiece. I don't know what the sample is, but the sax and keys in the song are beautiful.

"Duck and dodge, but it ain't safe
You hit the corner but they gave chase
And double back cause you got away
But your little cousin got hit
Sleepin in his baby crib
No CPR cause it's too late
So you cry, but you bounce back
Your reply is to get the gat
It's an eye for an eye till it's jet black
The only way you'll survive in your mind
Is to stay strapped
So you act out
They'll call you soft if you back out
So you roll your window down
And you black out
They next day they'll be back 'round
The Banana Clip Theory"
:mjcry:

And that song is just a blip in his massive discography. It's full of pure soul preaching. He's got serious bars and some insane flows. I swear it's that lazy southern drawl that lets him cut through his beats like a knife in butter. Outside of Freddie Gibbs and Kendrick, I haven't seen someone from this era who can gas a mike like Justin Scott.

Example:

This guy has always spoke the truth and his heart and blessed us with an insane amount of free music.

KRIT has a BB King feature :wow:

He's got two albums now that have debuted within the top 5 and has done it without compromising any of his artistic power in the process. He's still the same guy from rural Mississippi proud of his humble beginnings. He's eschewed being heavily involved in the rap industry. I'm finally starting to understand what the 4eva means.

God bless KRIT :blessed:

Definitely the most underrated artist of this generation. I know his albums probably could have been better. But I would put his top ten songs (mixtapes or albums) up against anybody who has dropped in the past 5 years

KRIT's mixtapes will always be better than his albums because of sample clearances. I think we can all accept that now. I still give the dude massive props for making it work on his LPs despite that. I can sit and nitpick little things about his albums, but some of his best songs have come from his albums. Mt. Olympus, King of the South, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Praying Man, My Sub pt 2, Soul Food, etc. Honestly, LFTU is his worst project and I'd still rate it as a 7.

I'm not a big fan but my lil cuz always rants and raves about him.

I remember when he first came out and I asked around about what his sound was like people told me like a down south kanye which was a turn off..then I heard him on a couple joints where I could kinda hear why people made that comparison and I just gave up on investigating his music.

Cadillactica kinda reeled me in a little bit though, and that's the first project of his I really listened to. Not perfect but I get it, I can see why some people fukk with him like they do. I'll be checking for him from now on.

If you've never been through struggle and aren't family oriented you wont like Krit. If you are those two things i dont see how you cant like Krit. Soul Food TALKED to me. Made a nikka emotional. Hes the best rapper.
