From a musically and skill standpoint I don't think there is anyone from this generation that can hang with KRIT from a duel-threat perspective. This dude has dropped 6 full-length projects since 2010 and has four production credits that belong to someone else. And let's be real, his mixtapes are albums. They are all thematic projects with a vision. He doesn't have a bad project and that's fact. His beats are vicious, soulful, bluesy, whatever. I am consistently blown-away by how good this guy is as a producer. Banana Clip Theory is a modern classic, and the perfect example of KRIT's skill. Listen to that song and take in that he did EVERYTHING. That shyt is poetic. Brilliant storytelling and concept. The beat too is a masterpiece. I don't know what the sample is, but the sax and keys in the song are beautiful.
"Duck and dodge, but it ain't safe
You hit the corner but they gave chase
And double back cause you got away
But your little cousin got hit
Sleepin in his baby crib
No CPR cause it's too late
So you cry, but you bounce back
Your reply is to get the gat
It's an eye for an eye till it's jet black
The only way you'll survive in your mind
Is to stay strapped
So you act out
They'll call you soft if you back out
So you roll your window down
And you black out
They next day they'll be back 'round
The Banana Clip Theory"

And that song is just a blip in his massive discography. It's full of pure soul preaching. He's got serious bars and some insane flows. I swear it's that lazy southern drawl that lets him cut through his beats like a knife in butter. Outside of Freddie Gibbs and Kendrick, I haven't seen someone from this era who can gas a mike like Justin Scott.
Example:
This guy has always spoke the truth and his heart and blessed us with an insane amount of free music.
KRIT has a BB King feature

He's got two albums now that have debuted within the top 5 and has done it without compromising any of his artistic power in the process. He's still the same guy from rural Mississippi proud of his humble beginnings. He's eschewed being heavily involved in the rap industry. I'm finally starting to understand what the 4eva means.
God bless KRIT
